Downtown Denver provides a variety of activities for all interests. The State Capitol and City Hall anchor the east end of downtown Denver, while the LoDo and Platte River Valley neighborhoods at the west end of downtown are anchored by Coors Field in the Ballpark neighborhood. The Pepsi Center, Auraria educational campus, Six Flags Elitch Gardens Theme Park, Downtown Aquarieum, and Invesco field at Mile High are all located on the West side of Downtown and are conveneiente to visit via light rail or by walking.
Access through downtown Denver along the 16-block 16th Street pedestrian mall from Broadway on the east to LoDo and Market Street on the west is aided by the free mall shuttle. The shuttle provides access to regional bus transit stops at either end. The importance of the mall shuttle’s connection to the city’s existing light rail line near the center of downtown was recently enhanced with the opening of the Southeast light rail corridor. With this latest addition to Denver’s transit system, even the Tech Center is convenient via light rail.
Downtown condo and town home residents have excellent access to local and regional shopping in the Central Business District and surrounding Denver neighborhoods. Larimer Square is a collection of specialty shops and restaurants including John Atencio Jewlers, Sistos Spa Solon, and Ann Taylor. Apart from downtown, the closest regional shopping is the Cherry Creek mall located about 4 miles southeast of the CBD.
